Get the latest Bears news from ESPN Chicago. Blog CHICAGO -- After attending the Chicago Bears' first four voluntary workouts last week, veteran tight end Desmond Clark was a no-show Monday when players reported back to work at Halas Hall, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Clark, who is entering the final year of his contract, may be the odd man out if the Bears choose to keep only seven backs and tight ends on their final 53-man roster. Greg Olsen and the newly signed Brandon Manumaleuna are locks to make the team, and Kellen Davis has impressive size and is much younger than Clark, who is entering his 12th year in the NFL.
The veteran battled a few injury problems in 2009, but before last season, recorded at least 40 receptions in each of the previous three years, proving to be one of the most durable and consistent contributors to the offense.
