Brady called the birth of his second son "a wonderful experience in my life" and reported that Bundchen and the baby were in good health. He said they had not yet picked out a name.

The Patriots quarterback said he owed it to his teammates in the locker room to be focused on what he needs to do for the team, so he was putting other emotions aside.

"As a captain and leader of this team, the last thing they need from me is to be really not focused on the job at hand," Brady said. "There are plenty of things for me to do in here this week."

After fielding a handful of questions on the birth, Brady, who was not present at practice later in the day, said "let's talk football" two minutes into his news conference and moved on to football topics.

Brady also has a 2-year-old son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan. Bundchen is a mother for the first time. The birth was first reported by People.com.

Brady and Bundchen were married in February in Los Angeles in a small ceremony. In April, they held another wedding ceremony in Costa Rica for friends and family.
