Philadelphia activated quarterback Michael Vick from its exempt list and added him to the 53-man roster, meaning he now is allowed to practice with the team. He will begin doing so Wednesday.
To create room on its roster for Vick, the Eagles released wide receiver Hank Baskett, whom the team has been trying to trade.
So now, when the Eagles practice Wednesday, Vick and Jeff Garcia will be a part of the quarterback rotation, though Donovan McNabb will not be. He is nursing a cracked rib that could prevent him from playing Sunday's game.
Baskett was one of seven receivers the Eagles carried on their 53-man roster through Week 1. He became expendable after Philadelphia selected Jeremy Maclin in the first round of April's draft and added Brandon Gibson in the sixth round.
Vick was suspended for the first two regular-season games as the final league penalty for his role in running a dogfighting ring.
