Ross, 34, was previously with the Cardinals for three seasons, 2005-2007. But he spent the entire '07 season on injured reserve with a torn triceps. He also spent all of 2008 on the New England Patriots' injured reserve list with a shoulder problem.

Over the weekend, Ross participated in the Cardinals' three-day minicamp as an audition. The team was impressed enough with his performance in the minicamp to offer him a contract.
The addition of Ross, who originally entered the league as a fifth -round pick in 1998 with Dallas, should provide Arizona with veteran depth at several offensive line positions. Ross has started in the past at both tackle spots, and can play guard in a pinch.
A former Iowa State star, Ross has appeared in 89 games, with 53 starts. Thirty-nine of those starts, including 16 in 2004, came in a three-year period with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent and appeared in games in 2005-2006, with 17 total starts.
Ross will be reunited with Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt and assistant head coach/offensive line Russ Grimm. Whisenhunt was the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh, and Grimm the offensive line coach, for much of Ross' tenure there.
He has played in Dallas (1998), Pittsburgh (1999-2004), and Arizona (2005-2007).
